Urgent Services Directory D. Pung reported that the directory is available on the County of Hawaii’s website for printing. E. Takazawa offered to distribute the directory to the hospitals and the University of Hawaii. 2. First Female Booklet After some discussion, it was suggested that A. Mejia get three quotes for 100, 300, and 500 copies from the print shop and quotes for different binding. She will provide a report at the next meeting. 3. Essay Contest C. Kitaoka reported that Borders gift cards were given to judges who didn’t attend the awards luncheon. The cost for the event was approximately $6,000. The lunch cost $32, but CSW charged $25 to participants. C. Kitaoka said that CSW needs to get the schools from West Hawaii to participate. She tried taking the essay contest packet directly to the English teachers and it didn’t help. Holualoa School is the only school from West Hawaii that participated. C. Kitaoka said that E. Cabatu mentioned to her that she had ways of getting it out there for next year.K. Peters stated that she could work on Kohala Elementary School and Kahakai Elementary School to participate. E. Takazawa said that she will contact E. Cabatu to see if she needs assistance in getting the essay contest winners on the radio. C. Kitaoka asked for any volunteers to coordinate the essay contest for next year. She dislikes doing the program, but she doesn’t mind doing the rest of the contest. CSW suggested that she assign a member to emcee the program. K. Peters suggested hiring an emcee or maybe B. Ford or A. Pilago could emcee the program. 2
