4. Mentoring <br />D. Pung reported that she did not make contact with Lorraine Godoy, but she will <br />inform her that CSW has a couple people who are interested in mentoring. <br />C. Kitaoka reported that M. Masunaga would like to do a mentoring project this <br />year, but she needs funding from CSW.C. Kitaoka suggested that M. Masunaga <br />submit a proposal and a budget to the committee. <br />5. Hawaii County Women’s Hall of Fame <br />N. Kelly reported that the Women’s Hall of Fame has been confirmed for <br />September 6, 2008 at the Hilton Waikoloa Village, Water’s Edge Ballroom. <br />N. Kelly, K. Nova, and K. Peters will meet after the meeting to review the <br />selection criteria. <br />N. Kelly stated that a press release needs to be issued for the upcoming <br />Women’s Hall of Fame. The photo of last year’s winners with Melveen Leed and <br />Jade Moon need to be resubmitted to the newspaper since it was never <br />published. <br />E. Takazawa suggested that CSW hire Danny Escalona to be the photographer <br />for the Women’s Hall of Fame. <br />K. Peters said she would start shopping for the vases. D. Pung offered to obtain <br />the koa bases again. <br />6. Equal Pay <br />No report. <br />B. Health <br />1. Women’s Health Month <br />K. Peters circulated information about the depression screening kit. The full kit <br />cost $195 which includes materials and screen 50 participants. The older adult <br />kit cost $95 which includes education and screening materials for 25 older adult <br />participants. <br />D. Pung reported that E. Cabatu provided the following report: Women and <br />Family Wellness Day, September 13 from 10-2, flyer attached. County <br />Committee will get the pavilion. HMC will provide carts to help participating <br />groups move their materials and tents.Permit cost $200 has been waived. <br />$1,000 has been committed by the Commission on the Status of Women. Need <br />to get confirmation from the Committee about contributing funding for the fair. <br />Participants already confirmed: Ke Anuenue, HMC Foundation, HMC <br />Departments, Napua Noe'au. Please help spread the call for participant’s flyer <br />far and wide. Working on others such as YMCA, YWCA, Turning Point, Bay <br />Clinic, Planned Parenthood and others. <br />3 <br /> <br />
