REPORTS <br />A. Education <br />1. Urgent Services Directory <br />D. Pung reported that she will give the updated directory to J. Viernes. <br />2. First Female Booklet <br />No report. <br />3. EssayContest <br />C. Kitaoka reported that she will start working on the initial packet for the schools <br />in August. Secondly, Councilmember V. Isbell allocated $2,000 for the essay <br />contest for fiscal year July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007. <br />4. Mentoring <br />M. Masunaga reported that Councilmember V. Isbell has allocated $3,500 for the <br />mentoring program for fiscal year July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007. <br />5. Hawaii County Womens Hall of Fame October 28, 2006 <br />C. Ka-ipo reported that she will publish another press release announcing the <br />third annual Womens Hall of Fame and the entertainment. There was one <br />nomination that was received and the informationwas sketchy. Therefore, she <br />will contact the person who submitted the nomination to provide more <br />information. The deadline to submit nominations is September 1, 2006. In <br />addition, Agnes Mui from the Hilton Waikoloa Village has been very <br />accommodating. <br />J. Coburn offered to submit a press release in the Waimea Gazette and North <br />Hawaii News. J. Viernes will forward the press release to J. Coburn. <br />S. Newland said that she publicized the Womens Hall of Fame on the Two <br />SistersfromPunacableshowtwoweeksago.C.Ka-iposaidshewouldbe <br />delighted to go on the radio and talk about the Womens Hall of Fame and <br />Womens Health Month. <br />6. Equal Pay <br />M. Masunaga reported that Councilmember V. Isbell has allocated $2,700 for <br />Pay Equity. <br />Governor Linda Lingle appointed a Pay Equity Task Force and M. Masunaga is <br />the only member from the Big Island. <br />CSW members agreed to have A. Amaral speak on Equal Pay for Womens <br />HealthMonthinSeptember. <br />2 <br /> <br />
