B. Health <br />1. Womens Health Month <br />E. Takazawa reported that Dino Paris from Aloha Counseling Center has offered <br />to be a guest speaker for Womens Health Monthfor $75/hour for two hours. He <br />would like to do goal setting and bonding exercises. Jeannie Chuff from Human <br />Services at the Hilo Medical Center has agreed to do a healing touch class on <br />the scudder technique. Other events will be Reiki, Tai Chi, and the identity theft <br />seminar.CSW will pay for airfare and car rental for Chris Young who will be <br />doing the identity theft seminar. <br />C. Liaison <br />1. HSCSW <br />M. Masunaga reported that the 3rd Annual International Womens Leadership <br />Conference will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2006, from 8:30 a.m. to <br />4:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel and Resort. The conference is <br />presented by the Office of the Governor and supported by the Hawaii State <br />Commission on the Status of Women (HSCSW). <br />The HSCSW has registered a WAGE Club. The WAGE Club is a National <br />Committee on Pay Equity. <br />The National Center for American Women and Politics created Ready to Run as <br />a bi-partisan effort to recruit and train women to run for all levels of office. The <br />HSCSW would like to try the Ready to Run program for the next presidential <br />election. <br />Lehua Kalua is a new chairperson for the Maui County Committee on the Status <br />of Women. <br />2. Legislative Update <br />The package of legislation showing its current status was circulated to CSW <br />members. <br />D. Marketing <br />1. Newsletter <br />No report. <br />E. Community Reports <br />The Soroptimist International of Kona invites the community to a luncheon honoring <br />J. Coburn, Managing Director of Kahilu Theatre Foundation and the 2006 winner of <br />theMakingaDifferenceforWomenAwardtobeheldonTuesday,May23,2006,at <br />noon in the Royal Kona Resort, Alii Room. <br />D. Pung reported that Hawaii Tribune Herald reporter, Peter Sur, would like to <br />interviewsomeoftheCSWmembers. <br />3 <br /> <br />
