M. Masunaga distributed a registration form for the Unequal Partners Workshop to <br />be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Best Western <br />Plaza Hotel. <br />S. Newland reported that the Urgent Services Directory was distributed at the <br />Neighborhood Place of Puna roundtable and exhibit. The directories were also <br />presented at the Neighborhood Place of Puna roundtable monthly meeting last <br />Wednesday. She offered to forward the Womens Hall of Fame press release to the <br />Puna roundtable members. Secondly, Nadia Schomer Ranne, Deputy Director of <br />Workforce and Quality Assurance of Goodwill Industries of Hawaii, provided a new <br />employment and training section for the directory. Lastly, S. Newland presented a <br />proclamation on Gentle Birth to the Governors Advisory Council for East Hawaii. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Nominating Committee Proposed Slate of Officers <br />Deferred to the June meeting. <br />B. Teen Dating Violence Prevention Initiative Training Program <br />C. Kitaoka reported that CSW will receive an additional $10,000 from <br />Councilmember V. Isbell to cover unanticipated expenses for the conference which <br />needs to be spent by June 30, 2006. M. Masunaga said that she provided testimony <br />and she requested for $10,000 for the Teen Dating Violence Peer Education <br />Conference. <br />C. Kitaoka reported that she is working with the peer education program of the <br />Department of Education to plan the conference. The conference will host <br />approximately 75 to 100 teens to formulate and implement an action plan within their <br />school. The conference is targeted for November 2, 2006 or November 3, 2006 at <br />WaikoloaorKona.Transportationwillbeprovidedforthestudentstoattend. <br />Themeetingwasrecessedat10:55a.m.Themeetingwasreconvenedat <br />11:00 a.m. <br />After some discussion, C. Kitaoka moved that CSW approve funding for airfare and <br />registrationfeeforC.Ka-ipo,C.Kitaoka,S.Newland,K.Nova,K.Peters,and <br />E. Takazawa to attend the Unequal Partners Workshop onJuly 11, 2006 on Oahu <br />depending upon availability of funds this fiscal year. E. Takazawa seconded the <br />motion. The motion was passed. <br />S. Newland moved to postpone the printing of the Urgent Services Directory until <br />next fiscal year. C. Ka-ipo seconded the motion. The motion was passed. <br />C. Bullying The Next Step <br />E. Takazawa reported that she provided written testimony as an individual <br />supportingtheresolutiononworkplacebullying. <br />4 <br /> <br />
