B. Letter from New West Broadcasting Corp. regarding an employment opening for the <br />position of account manager in both Kona and Hilo <br />C. National Association of Commissions for Women (NACW) Networking Newsletter – <br />Winter 2006 <br />REPORTS <br />A. Education <br />1. Urgent Services Directory <br />E. Takazawa reported that there are a few directory packets left and will take a <br />packet to the Community Policing officer in Hilo. <br />2. First Female Booklet <br />Tabled. <br />3. Essay Contest <br />D. Pung reported that the selections have been made, the hotel and banquet room <br />are set, and the invitations have been sent out which stipulate one child and the <br />parents' meal to be paid. The awards luncheon has been scheduled for Sunday, <br />March 5, 2006 at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. <br />D. Pung stated that a photographer is still needed. K. Peters volunteered as the <br />photographer since she has had professional photography experience. <br />4. Mentoring <br />M. Masunaga reported that she will follow up with her contact to solicit artists to <br />speak at school assemblies. <br />5. Hawaii County Women’s Hall of Fame <br />C. Kaipo’s e-mail was circulated. C. Kaipo has three possibilities, Hilo Hawaiian <br />Hotel on September 30th, and Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel or Hilton Waikoloa <br />Village on October 28th. C. Kitaoka suggested that the Hilton Waikoloa Village be <br />considered. K. Peters moved that the committee vote on the date, September 30th <br />or October 28th.N. Kelly seconded the motion. The motion was passed. The <br />members chose October 28th. S. Newland moved that the award luncheon be held <br />on October 28th at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. K. Peters seconded the motion. <br />The motion was passed. D. Noda will cancel the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel and Hapuna <br />Beach Prince Hotel reservations and C. Kitaoka will call the Hilton Waikoloa Village <br />to confirm the reservation. <br />K. Peters will look for an award which can be given each year. PR coordination for <br />ads, press release, and letters to other organizations soliciting nominations is <br />needed. J. Coburn was unanimously selected. Gift solicitation was deferred. <br />B. Health <br />1. Women’s Health Month <br />Kona: C. Kitaoka reported that Christopher Young will speak on Identity Theft. <br />2 <br /> <br />
