M. Masunaga stated that she will contact Lillian Koller, State Director DHS, to speak <br />in Kona. S. Newland said that Anne-Marie Lambert can speak on women’s health <br />issues. C. Kitaoka requested that E. Takazawa ask Ms. Lambert to speak at the <br />Kona Hongwanji on women’s issues with the ladies on a Friday. If she agrees, <br />E. Takazawa will e-mail C. Kitaoka and M. Masunaga. <br />Hilo: D. Pung announced that Karen Maedo, Morgan Stanley, will do women’s <br />Financial Health in September. N. Kelly suggested that Ann Zir, UHH Manoa can <br />speak on aging issues, although we would pay for her airfare. N. Kelly will inquire <br />about A. Zir’s availability. S. Newland recommended Jackie Hahn to speak on <br />women’s health issues. <br />C. Liaison <br />1. HSCSW <br />The next HSCSW meeting is scheduled for February 24, 2006 on Oahu. Governor <br />L. Lingle and Mayor H. Kim issued a Proclamation for Teen Dating Violence <br />Prevention and Awareness. <br />2. Legislative Update <br />A legislative update will be given to the Commission. <br />D. Marketing <br />1. Newsletter <br />No report. <br />E. Community Reports <br />None. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Resignations and Appointments <br />None. <br />B. Nominating Committee – Nominations for CSW Secretary <br />S. Newland moved that N. Kelly be nominated for Secretary. C. Kitaoka seconded the <br />motion. The motion was passed. <br />C. Teen Dating Violence Prevention Initiative Program <br />C. Kitaoka reported that the training will be on April 7, 2006 at the Hilton Waikoloa <br />Village. Speakers will be Bruce Wheatley from Idaho, Rae Spence, teen victim from <br />Austin, Texas, and Erin Gaddy from the American Prosecutor’s Research Institute. <br />The grant will pay for the travel and hotel expenses and no speaker’s fee. A local <br />speaker will be Nellie Namuad, a victim. <br />The audience will be attorneys, police, community, health officials, DOE teachers, <br />counselors and students. (Each school with have 3-5 teens). Robert Flores, <br />Administrator, U.S. Dept. of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency <br />Prevention may also attend. <br />3 <br /> <br />
