M. Masunaga stated that she will contact Lillian Koller, State Director DHS, to speak in Kona. S. Newland said that Anne-Marie Lambert can speak on women’s health issues. C. Kitaoka requested that E. Takazawa ask Ms. Lambert to speak at the Kona Hongwanji on women’s issues with the ladies on a Friday. If she agrees, E. Takazawa will e-mail C. Kitaoka and M. Masunaga. Hilo: D. Pung announced that Karen Maedo, Morgan Stanley, will do women’s Financial Health in September. N. Kelly suggested that Ann Zir, UHH Manoa can speak on aging issues, although we would pay for her airfare. N. Kelly will inquire about A. Zir’s availability. S. Newland recommended Jackie Hahn to speak on women’s health issues. C. Liaison 1. HSCSW The next HSCSW meeting is scheduled for February 24, 2006 on Oahu. Governor L. Lingle and Mayor H. Kim issued a Proclamation for Teen Dating Violence Prevention and Awareness. 2. Legislative Update A legislative update will be given to the Commission. D. Marketing 1. Newsletter No report. E. Community Reports None. UNFINISHED BUSINESS A. Resignations and Appointments None. B. Nominating Committee – Nominations for CSW Secretary S. Newland moved that N. Kelly be nominated for Secretary. C. Kitaoka seconded the motion. The motion was passed. C. Teen Dating Violence Prevention Initiative Program C. Kitaoka reported that the training will be on April 7, 2006 at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. Speakers will be Bruce Wheatley from Idaho, Rae Spence, teen victim from Austin, Texas, and Erin Gaddy from the American Prosecutor’s Research Institute. The grant will pay for the travel and hotel expenses and no speaker’s fee. A local speaker will be Nellie Namuad, a victim. The audience will be attorneys, police, community, health officials, DOE teachers, counselors and students. (Each school with have 3-5 teens). Robert Flores, Administrator, U.S. Dept. of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention may also attend. 3
