of them was early assistance and anti social behavior. Bullying is considered an anti <br />social behavior. They are trying to get statistics from different schools. <br />S. Domingo reported that there was a project done at Keonepoko School where a <br />survey was done with students about bullying. The students will be tracked and <br />tracked again in two or three years. <br />C. Ka-ipo moved that CSW endorse some sort of anti bullying prevention that the <br />committee could support as a group of women. S. Newland seconded the motion. <br />D. Pung suggested that CSW invite S. Labrenz to one of the committees meeting to <br />gather more information. C. Ka-ipo decided to withdraw her motion. N. Kelly moved <br />that CSW invite S. Labrenz to one of our future meetings so she can provide a <br />presentation on bullying. K. Peters seconded the motion. The motion was passed. <br />NEWBUSINESS <br />A. New Committees <br />None. <br />B. Sponsorships and Co-Sponsorships <br />CSW may have a possible collaboration with the Hawaii Island Anti Bullying <br />Coalition. <br />S. Newland reported that she would like to put on the agenda a request for co- <br />sponsorship for the Domestic Harmony Concert. <br />C. Guest Speakers Stacy Domingo, Firefighter COH, Request for Support for Gender <br />Equality <br />S. Domingo reported that she is a firefighter EMT for the Hawaii County Fire <br />Department. She is currently pregnant so she is on light duty and assigned to the <br />prevention division to work on numerous projects including community service. She <br />would like to decrease the disparity of gender equality for the Fire Department. At <br />this time, there are three women working for the Fire Department (2 women on line, <br />1recruit).ThewomendonotmakeuponepercentoftheFireDepartment.She <br />would like to investigate those theories and try to encourage more women to <br />investigatenontraditionalroles,encouragewomentobephysicallywelltobeableto <br />do the job of a firefighter, and to educate the community that this is not a firemans <br />jobitisafirefightersjob.ShecirculatedaStatusReportofwomeninfirefighting <br />throughout the nation. <br />S. Domingo stated that part of her plan is to partner with women/female <br />organizationstoaskfortheirsupport.Sincethisisthebeginningstageofthis <br />project, she is not quite sure what kind of support is needed whether it is financial <br />supportormoralsupport.ShefeelsthisisimportantfortheFireDepartment,the <br />community, and for the education of young girls to help develop them into thinking <br />aboutbecomingafirefighterorchoosinganontraditionalrole.Partoftheirplanisto <br />attend a career day event and to send women. They have participated in the GEMS <br />6 <br /> <br />
