After some discussion,
CSW decided that C. Ka-ipo find out when the Ironman Triathlon will be held and
the availability of the hotel. Secondly, D. Pung suggested that the event not be
held in September because E. Takazawa is busy planning Womens Health
Month. M. Masunaga added that CSW is planning to give out notices to
Soroptimist, AAUW, and other womens groups to nominate people for the
Womens Hall of Fame and they may be involved in their own Womens Health
events.
D. Noda made a point of clarification based on A. Saint-Gilles input. Was there
going to be further discussion or decision on changing the venue or not?
C. Ka-ipo said the reason we dont have a venue in Hilo is because there is no
venue in Hilo. C. Kitaoka pointed out that the key point is to give people more
notice so they can plan the event.
C. Ka-ipo stated that she would like more time to plan the presentation, awards,
and memento. She would like to have the event held at the Hapuna Beach
Prince Hotel because it is more accessible. She will negotiate with the hotel in
getting a bar at the event and reduced hotel accommodations. She will check on
the availability of the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel during the month of October
taking into consideration the date of the Ironman Triathlon and provide a report at
the next meeting.
D. Pung suggested that C. Ka-ipo also inquire with the Hilton Waikoloa Village
food and beverage department since CSW has a good relationship with them.
B. Health
1.
