Viernes reported that the directory has gone out to bid. The directory should <br />be available by the end of August. <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii said that she received a phone message from E. Takazawa <br />asking how to disburse the directory to school counselors and therapists. She <br />felt it wouldnt be a problem with the dissemination since she did it last year <br />through the Department of Education. Secondly, she suggested cutting back to <br />those sites that have the directory sitting in offices. <br />2. First Female Booklet <br />Tabled. <br />3. Essay Contest <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii reported that she is reviewing the time line and dates of the <br />essay contest. The letter to the complex area supervisors will go out next week <br />once verbal approval is received. <br />4. Equal Pay Day <br />M. Masunaga moved to drop this item from the agenda. C. Ka-ipo seconded the <br />motion. The motion was passed. <br />5. Mentoring <br />M. Masunaga reported that she contacted Konawaena High School to see if they <br />are interested in having a girls mentoring project. The vice-principal, <br />Noreen Kunitomo, will make contact if she is interested. KonawaenaHigh <br />School was targeted because there was a teen who committed suicide last <br />month.Thereweresometeenagegirlswhowereeitheremailedorgotavoice <br />mail message on their phone saying €goodbye. There is a national website on <br />mentalhealththattheschoolcouldadopttodointheirschool.Dr.KevinKunz <br />and his wife Kathy Mishina, a mental healthnurse, met with the parents who had <br />knownsomeoftheseteens. <br />6.HawaiiCountyWomensHallofFame <br />D.
