D. Pung will prepare the press release to submit nominations and the photo of <br />last year’s honorees to the newspaper.The deadline to submit nominations will <br />be October 1. <br />B.Health <br />1.Women’s Health Month <br />M. Masunaga reviewed a proposed budget for the Financial Planning and Estate <br />Planning seminar scheduled for September 9, 2005 in Kona. The budget <br />includes ad space, cost of the lunch, leis, and omiyage. Total request is $625. <br />E. Takazawa reported that there will be five events scheduled for Hilo. The <br />events are Tai Chi, Heart Math, Healing Touch, Meditation, and Pilates and <br />Yoga. Proposed budget will be $700 for refreshments, omiyage, and leis. <br />E. Takazawa said that P. Newland has not submitted a budget request for the <br />“From Buds to Flowers-Growing Girls to Ladies” program this year. Her <br />expenses last year were approximately $115. <br />M. Masunaga moved to approve $700 for Hilo and $625 for Kona for a total of <br />$1,325 for Women’s Health Month this year. C. Ka-ipo seconded the motion. <br />The motion was passed. <br />C.Liaison <br />1.HSCSW <br />M. Masunaga reported that the HSCSW is working hard on the International <br />Women’s Leadership Conference to be held on September 14-15, 2005 at the <br />Sheraton Waikiki. She was in charge of doing an ad for HSCSW with information <br />on the Teen Dating Violence Prevention Initiative. <br />2.Legislative Update <br />None. <br />D.Marketing <br />1.Newsletter <br />Tabled. <br />E.Community Reports <br />None. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A.Resignationsand appointments <br />None. <br />B.Teen Dating Violence Prevention Initiative Training Program <br />C. Kitaoka reported that she attended a meeting on August 4, 2005 on Oahu <br />focusing on homeless and runaway girls. A conference is being planned for <br />February 2006 for Oahu and the Big Island.
