C. Thank you letter from CSW to County Council Vice-Chair Virginia Isbell for <br />appropriating funds for the Teen Dating Violence Prevention Initiative Training <br />Program and the GEMS Program <br />D. A response from Barbara Tavares to Gerald Nakata in the Honolulu Advertiser <br />regarding why there is not a Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Men <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii reported that there is a bill on the Governors desk that would <br />move the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women (HSCSW) from the <br />Office of the Lieutenant Governor to the Department of Human Services. <br />M. Masunaga indicated that the bill is pending. <br />REPORTS <br />A. Education <br />1. Urgent Services Directory <br />K. Peters reported that she completed updating the directory. However, <br />E. Takazawa did not e-mail her addition. Therefore, her addition needs to be <br />e-mailed to J. Viernes. <br />2. First Female Booklet <br />No report. <br />3. EssayContest <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii reported that she will be preparing the initial packets for the <br />schools and sending a permission letter to the Department of Education at the <br />end of July. The Charter Schools were well represented last year. <br />4. Equal Pay Day <br />No report. <br />5. Mentoring <br />No report. <br />6. Hawaii County Womens Hall of Fame <br />No report. <br />The Womens Hall of Fame date will not change, but the event may be held <br />during lunch instead of dinner pending confirmation from J.
