J. Balberde-Kamalii suggested that CSW start sending out letters to the UHH <br />Women€s Center and other programs requesting for their schedule of events so it <br />can be combine into one bulletin or newsletter for dissemination. <br />C. Ka-ipo said that she would like to see something done on breast cancer in <br />collaboration with Kaiser because it€s becoming an epidemic. She feels women <br />needs to be educated early. <br />C. Liaison <br />1. HSCSW <br />M. Masunaga reported that they are in the process of meeting with the State of <br />Hawaii, Department of Human Resources Development office on the procedures <br />for hiring an Executive Director. <br />M. Masunaga said that Faye Watanabe Kurren and Maile Meyer are HSCSW <br />commissioners whose terms are expiring June 30, 2005. She would like CSW to <br />purchase leis for them. M. Masunaga moved to purchase leis for F. Watanabe <br />Kurren and M. Meyer and present it to them at the next HSCSW meeting to be <br />held on June 24, 2005. J. Balberde-Kamalii seconded the motion. The motion <br />was passed. <br />2. Legislative Update <br />M. Masunaga reported that she does not know whether the Governor will sign <br />the pending transfer of the HSCSW from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor to <br />the Departmentof Human Services. <br />D. Marketing <br />1. Newsletter <br />No report. <br />E. Community Reports <br />P. Newland reported that the skate park in Pahoa is moving right along. A design <br />committee meeting was held last week. A filmmaker from Na Leo OHawaii is <br />working with them to do a public service announcement. P.
