The public <br />schools will be contacted first before the private schools. <br />A nationwide awareness week will be scheduled the week of February 10, 2006. <br />U.S. Senator Mike Crapo from Idaho introduced a joint congressional and U.S. <br />Senate resolution to promote this teen dating violence prevention initiative <br />nationwide. A coordinated effort is underway with the White House, Department of <br />Justice, U.S. Department of Justice, and the Attorney Generals Office from various <br />states. <br />F. Other <br />J. Coburn reported that the Prosecutors Office is sponsoring a program called the <br />Shattered Dreams program. The program involves the dramatization of an alcohol- <br />related crash on or near a high school campus. <br />M. Masunaga suggested that C. Kitaoka contact Mitch Roth on the Shattered <br />Dreams program and whether it can be available in West Hawaii. <br />J. Coburn offered to contact Sharon Vitousek to find out what the statistics were for <br />male and female deaths ratio. <br />P. Newland suggested a tie in between Domestic Harmony Awareness Month and <br />the Teen Violence Prevention Initiative Training. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />A. Next meeting <br />The next meeting will be held on Friday, June 17, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. in Kona. <br />M. Masunaga moved to change the meeting date to Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at <br />10:00 a.m. in Hilo. P. Newland seconded the motion. The motionwas passed. <br />The July meeting was scheduled for Friday, July 15, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. in Hilo. <br />C. Ka-ipo moved to change the meeting date to Friday, July, 22, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. <br />in Kona. K. Peters seconded the motion. The motion was passed with P. Newland <br />abstaining. <br />B.
