2. Legislative Update <br />M. Masunaga reported that CSW has been receiving e-mails on the Womens <br />Coalitionfrom J. Viernes. <br />D. Marketing <br />1. Newsletter <br />J. Coburn reported that she received bios from K. Peters and E. Takazawa. <br />Articles and bios for the newsletter are due by February 28. <br />E. Community Reports <br />M. Masunaga reported that she testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on <br />February 4, 2005 supporting nominee Elizabeth €Betsy Strance as Third Circuit <br />Court Judge. She would like to request reimbursement for airfare because the West <br />Hawaii Bar Association does not want her speaking on behalf of them and CSW. In <br />addition, her 13 year old daughter also submitted testimony through e-mail and <br />Senator Colleen Hanabusa and Senator Clayton Hee valued it. <br />J. Coburn moved that CSW pay for M. Masunagas trip to Oahu. E. Takazawa <br />seconded the motion. The motion was passed. <br />P. Newland reported that Dr. Michael Hyson, a research director for The Sirius <br />Institute, appeared before the Joint Judiciary Committee that came over and toured <br />the island on Friday. He discussed various programs being developed relating to <br />the ice epidemic. Secondly, she is involved with the Weed and Seed Youth Council <br />inPahoaandtheywillpresentthePahoaSpringJamtobeheldonApril9. <br />UNFINISHEDBUSINESS <br />A.
