Masunaga has been sworned in as a new member of CSW. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />A. New Committees <br />Tabled. <br />B. Sponsorships and Co-Sponsorships <br />C. Kitaoka reported that she and M. Masunaga are working on the Teen Dating <br />Violence Prevention Initiative and she would like CSW to co-sponsor this event. <br />M. Masunaga said that nationwide statistics for girls indicate that one in five teenage <br />girls has been either sexually assaulted or physically assaulted by their boyfriends. <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii pointed out that Hawaii is higherbecause for the last ten years <br />Hawaii has been above the national average for domestic violence. <br />M. Masunaga moved that CSW will co-sponsor the Teen Dating Violence Prevention <br />Initiative and support it for Hawaii County. J. Balberde-Kamalii seconded the <br />motion. The motion was passed. <br />L. Guluzzy mentioned that a budget needs to be submitted to CSW for approval and <br />itshouldbeprovidedatleastonemonthinadvance. <br />C.GuestSpeakers <br />CSWs guest speaker during lunch will be Dana Moody from Tutus House. <br />D. Bylaws <br />Tabled. <br />E. 2004 International Womens Leadership Conference <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii, L. Guluzzy, D. Pung, and E. Takazawa will be attending the <br />conference on November 18-19, 2004 on Oahu. After some discussion, D. Pung <br />moved that CSW send four people to the 2004 International Womens Leadership <br />Conferenceandwillincludeairfare,registration,tworooms,andtaxi.J.Balberde- <br />Kamalii seconded the motion. J. Viernes to check on hotel accommodations at the <br />DoubletreeAlanaHotelortheHiltonHawaiianVillage.Themotionwaspassed. <br />5 <br /> <br />
