Masunaga reported that the Governor has cut the HSCSWs budget in half. <br />She thanked CSW for funding a lot of projects. <br />A report from A. Hikida Tasaka, HSCSW, was distributed to CSW members at <br />last months meeting which was cancelled due to lack of quorum. <br />2. Legislative Update <br />No report. <br />D. Marketing <br />1. Newsletter <br />P. Newland offered to follow up with M. Lake on the status of the newsletter. She <br />was under the impression that the newsletter was done or being published. <br />E. Community Reports <br />L. Guluzzy reported that there is grant money available from the Hawaii <br />Community Foundation. <br />P. Newland reported that DVIAT is working diligently on the domestic violence <br />awareness month vigil. In addition, she is involved with a new group called We <br />Stand for the Children. She helped coordinate and organize it. This group was <br />founded to look into and to change the situation where children are being <br />wrongfully removed from their homes by the state. Lastly, she is coordinating the <br />domestic harmony awareness campaign poster contest for October and <br />November. Also, a concert will be held in November for domestic harmony <br />awarenessmonth. <br />UNFINISHEDBUSINESS <br />A. Resignations and appointments <br />L. Guluzzy reported that she contacted D. Davis, left a message, and received no <br />response for the first time. Her message said that CSW needs someone who will <br />participate and if D. Davis is unable to attend, then she should consider resigning. <br />L. Guluzzy offered to draft a letter to D. Davis and ask her if she intends to <br />participate or not. <br />B. Nominating Committee <br />L. Guluzzy reported that the vice-chair position needs to be filled due to M. Lakes <br />resignation.D.Punghasexpressedinterestinservingasthevice-chair.CSW <br />unanimously voted for D. Pung. <br />5 <br /> <br />
