Pennsylvania Commission for Women Newsletter <br />REPORTS <br />A. Education <br />1. Urgent Services Directory <br />M. Lake reported that former member S. Nakoa will be updating the directory. <br />P. Newland asked where she could get additional copies of the directory since <br />Officer Andrea Mejia was asking for them. J. Viernes replied that she just made <br />1,000 copies of the directory for distribution. <br />2. First Female Booklet <br />M. Lake reported that it doesnÓt seem like CSW will be able to print the booklet by <br />the end of the fiscal year. Therefore, the booklet will be published next fiscal <br />year. <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii suggested that M. Lake contact D. Davis to determine if <br />there is any barrier obstacles that she is experiencing in completing this project. <br />M. Lake offered to send D. Davis a letter. <br />3. Essay Contest <br />L. Guluzzy suggested sending a press release of the essay contes <br />West Hawaii Today. She offered to draft the press release. She felt that all <br />press releases should be routed to J. Viernes to print on CSWÓs <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii reported that the essay contest was cool, awesome, terrific, <br />and a wonderful experience. The judges and the students said they enjoyed the <br />event. She need to make it clear when sending out the packet to the schools <br />that an English version needs to be provided when a language other than English <br />is submitted. She suggested having a montage as a backdrop at the awards <br />luncheon next year. <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii expressed her appreciation to S. Tanaka and J. Viernes for <br />their assistance with the essay contest. <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii suggested looking for a comfortable location with more <br />space and a less smoky atmosphere. L. Guluzzy recommended the K <br />and E. Takazawa suggested the venue could be at Waikoloa. J. Balberde- <br />Kamalii said she will start researching a location in Hilo, Kona <br />2 <br /> <br />
