CORRESPONDENCE <br />A. Letter from Mayor Harry Kim to Chairman James Arakaki and Members of the <br />County Council appointing Dawn Pung and Ellen Takazawa to CSW replacing <br />Beryl Iramina and Suellen Tanaka <br />B. Thank you letter from Representatives Jerry Chang, Cindy Evans, <br />Helene Hale, Dwight Takamine and Senator Lorraine Inouye for the omiyage <br />C. Thank you letter from Governor Linda Lingle to Paradise Newland for the Cetacea <br />Humpbacks and Dolphins Sing CD and Domestic Harmony Awareness posters <br />D. Letter from New West Broadcasting Corp. regarding an employment opening for the <br />position of sales account executive <br />REPORTS <br />A. Education <br />1. Urgent Services Directory <br />M. Lake reported that S. Nakoa agreed to update the next directory. All revisions <br />and additions should be submitted to J. Viernes. <br />L. Guluzzy mentioned that she submitted the phone numbers for the Office of <br />Aging in Kona and Hilo to be included in the directory. <br />J. Viernes said she has only one packet of the directory left. <br />2. First Female Booklet <br />No report. <br />M. Lake reported that she will follow up with D. Davis on the status of the booklet <br />since CSW wanted to publish it by March 2004. CSW decided to pu <br />booklet by the end of this fiscal year. <br />3. Essay Contest <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii thanked CSW members for judging the essays. The awards <br />luncheon will be held on Sunday, February 29, 2004, at Nani Mau Gardens. The <br />first, second, and third place winners along with their principals, teachers, and <br />their ÐReal WomanÑ have been invited to the luncheon. This is the first year that <br />winners are from Ke Kula ÓO NawahiokalanipouÓu, a public charter school. <br />Cornelia Anguay, former CSW member, will be assisting with the presentation of <br />awards and reading of essays. An official photographer, Danny Escalona, will be <br />taking pictures of the program. A meeting will be held on Monday, February 23 <br />with S. Tanaka and J. Viernes to review the program. <br />4. Equal Pay Day <br />M. Lake reported that April 20, 2004 is Equal Pay Day. She checked with former <br />member, S. Shirachi, on the project she was working on and found out it is on <br />2 <br /> <br />
