M. Lake raised an issue on how much money CSW would like to spen <br />ÐomiyageÑ (gift). P. Newland suggested having a range of $15 to $30 depending on the <br />circumstances. S. Nakoa suggested coming up with a maximum figure for the year <br />depending upon the event. S. Tanaka agreed and suggested that CSW monitor the <br />miscellaneous charges account as each event occurs. S. Shirachi said there has been <br />past history where there has not been good discretionary judgement. She stated that <br />the spending guidelines should be similar to the concept that P. Newland suggested, <br />but also further defined. <br />P. Newland moved to establish an upper limit of $30 with purchasing discretion for leis <br />and Ðomiyage.Ñ S. Tanaka seconded the motion. S. Nakoa felt it <br />micro manage because CSW has a line item account. Secondly, she <br />any history of abuse with regards to gifts. S. Shirachi disagreed and suggested a per <br />gift category instead. <br />P. Newland amended her motion to establish a $30 limit per item of ÐomiyageÑ and/or <br />leis. S. Newland regarding the book <br />Dressed to Kill <br />C. Hara reported that CSW understood that the book was personally donated to the <br />Governor by P. Newland, and not given on behalf of the committee. She suggested <br />that P. Newland clarify this issue with the Governor. P. Newland offered to send a <br />letter to the Governor making it clear that the book was a personal gift. <br />C.
