S. Shirachi suggested inviting a national guest speaker who can talk about <br />empowerment issues for women or someone who is an icon within the woman's <br />movement. C. Hara suggested asking former HSCSW commissioner Leslie Wilkins <br />as a guest speaker for Women's History Month since she is a weal <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />A. Next meeting <br />The next meeting will be held on Friday, August 22, 2003, at 10 a.m. in Waimea. <br />Location to be announced. <br />B. Schedules <br />P. Newland will be unable to attend the August meeting. <br />C. Other <br />P. Newland reported that she attended the public awareness committee for DVIAT. <br />Some of their upcoming events are the Family Peace Walk and Vigil to be held on <br />October 17, rummage sale fundraiser on August 9, Make a Difference Day on <br />October 25 in Kona and October 26 in Keaau. A public safety pam <br />domestic violence is being distributed at various doctor's offic <br />P. Newland asked CSW whether the committee would have any intere <br />kind of statement or policy in support of more education and information towards <br />domestic harmony awareness. C. Hara suggested that P.
