STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />E. MacCalla reported that she is a member of the American Association of University <br />Women (AAUW), Hilo Branch and she is also the state president of AAUW. She came <br />to the meeting because she is interested in CSW. At their state meeting on April 25, <br />she was asked to write a letter of support on behalf of the Hawa <br />the Status of Women (HSCSW) to Governor Lingle. A copy of the letter was given to <br />CSW for their records. <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br />A. The Honolulu Conference for Women 2003, to be held on July 17-18, 2003, at the <br />Pacific Beach Hotel on Oahu <br />B. Letter from Mayor Harry Kim to Chairman James Arakaki and Members of the <br />County Council appointing M. Lake to CSW replacing L. Cannon-Salis <br />C. Women New Jersey Newsletter from the New Jersey Advisory Commiss <br />Status of Women <br />D. WomeNews Newsletter from the Nebraska Commission on the Status of Women <br />E. Letter from E. MacCalla, President of AAUW Hawaii Pacific Divisi <br />Lingle to continue support for the HSCSW <br />REPORTS <br />A. Education <br />1. Urgent Services Directory <br />M. Andrews reported that there are approximately 24 packs of the directory left. <br />She encouraged CSW members to assist in distributing the directory. <br />S. Tanaka offered to drop off some of the directories in the emergency room and <br />waiting room for the women at the Hilo Medical Center. Secondly, she will also <br />distribute them at her church in Hilo. M. Andrews suggested that the directories <br />be dropped off at the administration office for protocol before distributing them <br />around the hospital. Agencies normally like to know what is bei <br />someone usually approves them at the top. <br />As a reminder to everyone, all directory distribution sites shou <br />J. Viernes to track. <br />2. First Female Booklet <br />C. Hara reported that D. Davis created a new booklet since she had difficulty <br />opening up the file. A draft of the final booklet was submitted to C. Hara and <br />J. Viernes for review. The Mayor's message and CSW logo needs to be inserted <br />and the chairperson's message revised before the booklet will be ready to go out <br />to bid. The specifications are due by the end of May to J. Viernes. C. Hara <br />circulated the draft booklet for comments. <br />2 <br /> <br />
