3. Essay Contest <br />S. Tanaka reported that she will scheduling a committee meeting with C. Hara <br />and S. Shirachi Gonsalves by the end of the month to prepare for next year's <br />essay contest. <br />4. Equal Pay Day <br />S. Shirachi Gonsalves reported that the male student she recruited is still <br />interested in the pay equity project. She will meet with him early next month to <br />discuss their strategy for next year. <br />5. Mentoring <br />C. Hara circulated a photo of M. Masunaga's daughter participating in the Pre- <br />Teen Professional Mentoring Project at Macy's. <br />6. Dress for Success/Fashion Furlough <br />C. Hara reported that B. Iramina did not submit an updated report about the <br />Fashion Furlough program. She would like an update for the next meeting. <br />C. Hara provided background information about the program for E. MacCalla. <br />B. Health <br />1. Women's Health Month <br />C. Hara reported that she has not heard if any decision was made on the theme <br />for Women's Health Month. The events are published in a statewide Calendar of <br />Events tabloid and the deadline to submit information is June. <br />C. Hara stated that she already contacted Bay Clinic, Tutu's House, and <br />Hamakua Health Center to start planning their activities for Women's Health <br />Month and for inclusion into the calendar. <br />P. Newland mentioned that she volunteered to coordinate an event for Women's <br />Health Month. She asked if she is suppose to attend the meetings on Oahu <br />when the HSCSW decides on some direction about Women's Health Month. She <br />suggested a meeting with C. Hara to coordinate both of their events. C. Hara <br />agreed. <br />C. Hara clarified whether P. Newland was coordinating an event or spearheading <br />Women's Health Month because there is a big difference between coordinating <br />and chairing. P. Newland said she would like to get clarification on herself before <br />making a commitment on spearheading the whole thing. <br />C. Liaison <br />1. HSCSW <br />C. Hara reported that there was no report from HSCSW. Secondly, she does not <br />know of all the bills that passed are on Governor Lingle's desk for veto or for <br />approval. <br />3 <br /> <br />
