S. Shirachi Gonsalves suggested inviting Senator Lorraine Inouye <br />long term care as a follow up to her previous visit. CSW agreed <br />D. Marketing <br />1. Newsletter <br />S. Shirachi Gonsalves reported that she needs articles from M. Andrews, <br />D. Davis, C. Hara, M. Lake, and B. Iramina. She also will be supplementing the <br />newsletter with an article about women in the military from a female student who <br />is a former retired military woman, an essay as a tribute to women by a male <br />student (African American), an article by a female woman scholar, and an article <br />about the history of CSW's logo which was crafted by former CSW member, <br />Gail Makuakane-Lundin. C. Hara also suggested that J. Viernes submit a bio. <br />S. Shirachi Gonsalves stated that N. Los Banos is still committed to the <br />newsletter. Their target final deadline to print is June 15. <br />S. Shirachi Gonsalves added that another student will be doing an abstract of the <br />Self-Sufficiency Standard which will be included in the newslett <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Resignations and appointments <br />C. Hara reported that M. Lake was sworn in today and appointed to CSW. <br />B. Nominating Committee <br />S. Tanaka reported that she will be consulting with other members of the nominating <br />committee to prepare a slate of officers for the next meeting. A letter will be <br />submitted listing the nominees to CSW members at least two weeks in advance of <br />the June meeting. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />A. New Committees <br />None. <br />B. Hara reported that Dr. Alton Okinaka will be CSW's luncheon guest speaker today <br />at 11:30 a.m. at Nihon Restaurant. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />A. Next meeting <br />The next meeting will be held on Friday, June 13, 2003 at 10 a.m. in the Law Office <br />of Strance and Nakoa conference room.
