UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. PUBLIC HEARING Î BY-LAWS <br />Motion was made and seconded to accept/adopt the by-laws as they <br />Motion was unanimously passed. <br />REPORTS <br />A. DV-101 Î COURSE CURRICULUM <br />Length of training will be 2 hours instead of 4 hours. D. Auldri <br />commissioners reviewed the draft training curriculum from the la <br />make comments/additions/amendments for the final curriculum. L. <br />he and L. Slutter would help K. Soo put together the curriculum <br />from the commission. <br />B. LAWS AND POLICY REFORM <br />K. Kudlo reported on the Model Code on Domestic and Family Viole <br />American Bar Association. She said that Lincoln Ashida and Andy Levin have <br />both volunteered to help the commission learn about the law maki <br />get ideas together this year for next yearÓs legislative session <br />suggested this committee meet to review information collectively <br />the commission with recommendations about which areas they shoul <br />attention. K. Kudlo volunteered to get a copy of the Model Code <br />of this committee for comparison to HawaiiÓs Code and overall re <br />needs to be changed. <br />L. Lord mentioned various domestic violence organizations compri <br />that supported and helped with drafting bills this year. He que <br />in our county were different from the rest of the state that thi <br />want to duplicate this effort. D. Auldridge suggested that sinc <br />commissioners might not know of the efforts of the coalition, he <br />informing them about what bills were proposed, what passed and w <br />The commission could then use this report, together with the Mod <br />present and past legislation by the coalition when reviewing the <br />reviewing this collectively, the commission can either decide to <br />as another voice, or draft something different than what has bee <br />proposed. <br />L. Lord will send weekly updates on present legislation to the c <br />members by email. <br />C. PUBLIC RELATIONS <br />K. Wolfe reported on the thumbnail sketches done by Gary OÓBrien <br />does not want to donate his services, but told the commission they could keep <br />the sketches. DV message on the county paystubs deferred to the <br />Article for the newsletter will be finalized and brought to the <br />Walker, ranch owner in Waimea will talk to the commission at a f <br />about getting involved with battered and abused children.
