Mayhew seconded the <br />motion and it passed unanimously. <br />Erway delegated Sanborn to coordinate setting up information meetings with the Kona- <br />· <br />th <br />Kohala Chamber of Commerce following the March 29 EMC meeting in Kona. <br />LARGE CAPACITY CESSPOOL REPLACEMENT PROJECT DEADLINES: <br />Honokaa: September ,2010. <br />· <br />Queen Lilioukalani: June, 2010. <br />· <br />Komohana Heights: January, 2009. <br />· <br />Hilo Sewer Pump Station Abandonment: has been completed. <br />· <br />NAALEHU/PAHALA LARGE CAPACITY CESSPOOL REPLACEMENT: <br />County has committed to help residents of the area with this project. <br />· <br />The department will pursue the monthly fee being increased from $15 for gang cesspools to <br />· <br />$27 for large capacity cesspools when projectis completed. <br />KAPOHO WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY FEASIBILITY STUDY: <br />$200,000 has been allotted for this study ($50,000 County CIP and $150,000 State). <br />· <br />KILOHANA SEWER IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT: <br />Public meetings will be scheduled in early 2007 when the implementation plan is finished. <br />· <br />Contract will be executed with a financial consultant to determined method of financing for <br />· <br />both North Kona ID and Kilohana. <br />QUEEN LILIUOKALANI VILLAGE LARGE CAPACITY CESSPOOL REPLACEMENT: <br />Met with the Homeowners Association and provided correct information to clarify <br />· <br />misconceptions regarding the wastewater system. <br />Looking for land to place the septic system. <br />· <br />KEALAKEHE SEWAGE PUMP STATION ODOR CONTROL: <br />This project is on hold pending hiring of additional staff. Interviews are proceeding for one <br />· <br />staff position. <br /> (attached to original minutes) <br />Solid Waste Division Chiefs Report <br />Dworsky introduced Linda Peters, the new Recycling Coordinator and Chris Chin-Chance, <br />· <br />Recycling Specialist. <br />HILO LANDFILL: <br />Sliverfillcontinuestoworkwell. <br />· <br />TheDivisionisworkingonprovidingadditionaldataregardingtheslopestabilityrequested <br />· <br />byDOH. <br />The Hilo landfill remained very stable during the earthquake. <br />· <br />EQUIPMENT: <br />Thereisnoneedfordailycover,therebysavingfundsoncoverrock,nowthattheTarp-O- <br />· <br />Matic is being used as alternative daily cover. <br /> <br />
