UNFINISHED BUSINESS: <br />6. <br />REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL NO. 2146: WASTE REDUCTION TECHNOLOGY RFP <br />STATUS REPORT SINCE LAST MEETING: Deadline for receiving proposals is 4:30 p.m., <br />January 21, 2005. <br />NEW COMMISSION MEMBERS: <br />Three applications have been received for District 9. <br />· <br />No formal action has been taken by the Mayors Office. <br />· <br />SCHEDULING OF COUNTY SITE VISITS BY THE COMMISSION: <br />Witcher made a motion that the commission visit the Kealakehe Wastewater Treatment <br />Plant following the March 23, 2005 meeting. Okamura seconded the motion and it <br />passed unanimously. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />7.: <br />MOTOR VEHICLE EMISSIONS AND DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH REGULATIONS <br />DISCUSSION (taken out of order): <br />Email (attached to original minutes) received from resident regarding Motor Vehicle <br />· <br />Emissions regulations. <br />Smith suggested that this correspondence be forwarded to Steven Okoji, Environmental <br />· <br />Health Specialist for Department of Health in Kona. <br />Smith made a motion that the Director send a formal reply letter to Uly Grunwald <br />· <br />and explain Hawai`i Administrative Rule 11-60.1-34(c); explain that it is a State <br />Department of Health Clean Air Branch issue. Cc should go to their Kona Office so <br />that they are reminded that it is their responsibility to enforce this, and also second <br />part of the motion would be that we include this Hawai`i Administrative Rule with <br />some kind of introductory caption in the County newsletter so that people that are on <br />the distribution list are informed, or reminded, of this Hawai`i Administrative Rule. <br />Witchersecondedthemotionanditpassedunanimously. <br />EMC2005-01WAIKOLOACURBSIDERECYCLINGRESOLUTION: <br />Smith made a motion to adopt this resolution.
