Hawai‘i Kupuna Softball League <br /> <br />2011 Hawai‘i Kupuna Softball and State Senior Softball Tournaments <br /> <br />The 37th Annual Hawai‘i Kupuna Softball Tournament was held on July 13 & 14, 2011 at Walter <br />Victor Stadium in Hilo. Twenty-one of the league’s twenty-three teams participated in the two-day, <br />four division tournament. An opening ceremony attended by Mayor Billy Kenoi, P&R Director <br />Robert Fitzgerald, and other dignitaries and sponsors started the tournament at 8:00 a.m. on <br />Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Both days were filled with many exciting games in all the divisions. <br />On the final day, in the Division I championship game the Honomū Rockets defeated Kohala, 12-6. <br /> <br />The following are the final results for the 37th Annual Hawai‘i Kupuna Softball Tournament: <br /> <br />Division I: 1st Place: Honomū Rockets <br /> 2nd Place: Kohala <br /> 3rd Place: Onomea Rangers <br /> <br />Division II: 1st Place: Kona Drysdale’s <br /> 2nd Place: Ka Nani O Honoka‘a <br /> 3rd Place: Waiākea Seniors <br /> Sportsmanship: Pu‘ukapu <br /> <br />Division III: 1st Place: Ku‘ikahi <br /> 2nd Place:Hui O Nā Kolohe <br /> 3rd Place: Waimea Paniolo <br /> Sportsmanship: Punatics <br /> <br />Division IV: 1st Place: Kona Warriors <br /> 2nd Place: Pāpa‘ikou Aces <br /> 3rd Place: Pu‘uwai Opio <br /> Sportsmanship: HK <br /> <br />Other participating teams were: <br />Hilo Pomaika‘i <br />Kona Gold <br />Onipa‘a Iron Birds <br />Local Boyz <br />Team Sports <br />Kupuna Pride <br /> <br />Honomū Rockets, 1st Place Division I <br /> <br />Kona Drysdale’s, 1st Place Division II <br /> <br />Ku‘ikahi, 1st Place Division III <br /> <br />Kupuna News 7 October-December 2011
