facades should be replaced with new windows that <br />match the original material, size, general muntin <br />and mullion. <br />(4) Replacements for original windows, doors and panes <br />should duplicate the original in design and materials. <br />Louvered (Jalousie) window replacements of original <br />double hung vertical sliding sash type windows is <br />discouraged. <br />(5) Aluminum sash and screens, door frames and screen <br />doors should be in white, bronze or black. Aluminum <br />color is discouraged. <br />(h) Entrances Porches and Steps <br />(1) Porches and steps that are appropriate to the building <br />and its development should duplicate the original <br />in design and material. <br />(2) Replacement of porches and steps should duplicate <br />the original in design and material. <br />M New Construction as Part of Rehabilitation Project <br />New additions and on -site new construction should be com- <br />patible in scale, building materials, texture, color and archi- <br />tectural details. <br />(j) Mechanical Systems <br />(1) Installation of needed mechanical systems should <br />require the least alteration to the structural integrity <br />and physical appearance of the building. <br />(2) Adequate ventilation of attics, crawl spaces and <br />basements shall be encouraged to prevent moisture <br />problems. <br />(3) New mechanical systems should be screened to mini- <br />mize the visual impact from the street.
