Action: A specific event, plan, program, <br />regulation, development, or study intended <br />to help implement a given strategy. <br />Action Plan Matrix: A vision "road map" <br />designed in a matrix format. A plan <br />comprised of strategies and actions <br />intended to move our community toward <br />achieving its vision. It includes references <br />to Lead Solution Partners, Supporting and <br />Potential Partners, and action status. <br />Capacity Building: Opportunities which <br />provide training, knowledge and experience <br />for working together more collaboratively <br />and effectively as we develop our <br />communities. <br />Community -Based Vision: An overall <br />image of what our community wants to be <br />and how it would look at a point in the <br />future. The target year for the Downtown <br />Hilo vision is 2025. <br />Core Values: The VisionKeeper's deeply <br />held shared ideals and beliefs against which <br />its Vision and Mission are measured. <br />Easy Wins: Vision - friendly activities or <br />doable projects that are visible and can be <br />organized and accomplished simply, <br />inexpensively and quickly - ideally in less <br />than one year. <br />DEFINITIONS <br />Ex- official Members: Staff who are also <br />members of the Vision Keepers. <br />Focus Areas: Principle themes within our <br />Community -Based Vision and Living Action <br />Plan. All actions fall into one these Focus <br />Areas. The diversity of the Focus Areas <br />ensures that our Plan remains balanced and <br />sustainable. The EDH 2025 Plan has six <br />focus areas: Creating Economic Vitality, <br />Preserving Our Environment, Strengthening <br />and Sustaining Our Community, Enhancing <br />Education, Culture and the Arts, Promoting <br />Health and Safety, and Managing Growth. <br />Focus Area Mentors: Small committees <br />based on the six focus areas that the Action <br />Plan is created from. Members join based <br />on their interest and expertise. The <br />Vision Keepers consult with these experts <br />before making a decision on changes to the <br />Living Action Plan. New members can be <br />recruited accordingly to balance the <br />committee. <br />Ike is Hilo: "Imagine Hilo." <br />Implementation Committee <br />(Vision Keepers): <br />An objective group of committed citizens <br />who serve as shepherds for a community <br />plan.
