The hard work proved to be an essential part of this process. This is how capacity is built <br /> from within during community visioning. By taking on more difficult and daunting tasks, each <br /> committee member learned more about themselves and each other, and grew in the process. This is <br /> a parallel to the community's development and subsequent empowerment in the visioning process. <br /> FDHSC Key Leadership Roles: <br /> Community Liaison: <br /> • Ensures that the project is in keeping with Mo' Bettah Together grant requirements. <br /> • Serves as point person with Planning Department Liaison. <br /> • Assists in moving FDHSC toward achieving its Mission. <br /> • Presents Community-Based Vision and Living Action Plan to Planning Department Director, <br /> Planning Commission, and County Council. <br /> • Develops relationships with Key Stakeholders. <br /> County Planning Department Liaison: <br /> • Ensures that project is in keeping with Coastal Zone Management funding requirements. <br /> • Serves as key liaison with guest facilitators, trainers, and speakers. <br /> • Works closely with the FDHSC Community Liaison to ensure that community involvement is an <br /> integral part of the vision process. <br /> FDHSC Meeting Facilitator: <br /> • Ensures that FDHSC meetings run smoothly and agenda items are addressed. <br /> • Practices and receives training for developing leadership skills. <br /> FDHSC Subcommittees and their responsibilities: Hospitality: Coordinate donations for refreshments <br /> at all community meetings; schedule meeting venues <br /> Promotions: media relations; press releases; public and make appropriate audio-visual equipment <br /> service announcements; Road Show schedule; Web arrangements, facilitation accessories; oversee <br /> site development; management of stakeholder and public welcome and workshop registration; secure <br /> media database; proofing all FDHCS public entertainment. <br /> material prior to dissemination. <br /> Event/Content Planning: Determine content of <br /> Finance: apply for an manage grants; manage workshops, events, and Web site; process <br /> accounts. workshop results and prepare handout content for <br /> the next workshop; organize orientation and training <br /> Doable Projects (Easy Wins): Research current for visioning facilitators and recorders; develop <br /> projects within the community and report on projects' criteria for community involvement; conduct post- <br /> progress. workshop data assessments; review all evaluations <br /> and lessons-learned to improve successive <br /> Roadmap: Maintain timeline of all meetings, workshops. <br /> workshops, deadlines, task lists and itineraries. <br /> Ad Hoc Subcommittees: Name, Tag Line, Logo <br /> 15 <br />
