RECESS: At 3:15 p.m. the Chair called for a short recess. <br />RECONVENE: The meeting was reconvened at 3:33 p.m. <br />ORDER OF THE DAY / NEW BUSINESS <br />COMM. 58: REDISTRICTING COMMISSION'S FINAL PLAN <br />From Commission Chair Rene Siracusa, dated December 10, 2011, requesting the <br />Commission's review and discussion of Final Redistricting Plan/Map. <br />Mr. Melrose moved to close file on COMM. 58 <br />Seconded by Mr. Middlesworth. <br />CHR. SIRACUSA: Any discussion? <br />MR. MIDDLESWORTH: Yes. <br />CHR. SIRACUSA: Go ahead. <br />MR. MIDDLESWORTH: I would just like to point out that if we want to make a last <br />minute change to the plan without anybody knowing about it, except the press; now is a <br />good time because all of the people have gone home. <br />Laughter <br />MS. POINDEXTER: Now, that is a joke you know, by the way. We need some humor. <br />We can't go without humor. <br />CHR. SIRACUSA: Are we ready for a vote then, to close file? <br />The motion to close file on COMM. 59 <br />was carried by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Commissioners Carvalho, Kahawaiolaa, <br />Kahui, Kanuha, Melrose, Middlesworth, <br />Poindexter, Ugalde, and Chair Siracusa. <br />Noes: None. <br />Absent: None. <br />CHR.
