The tournament co-sponsored by the <br />Big Island Candies Foundation, Waikoloa Kings Course, and the County of Hawai‘i, <br />Dept. of Parks & Recreation, Elderly Activities Division-Special Programs, will be held <br />Friday, May 20 at the Waikoloa Kings Course. This event is open to all Big Island residents <br />aged 55 or older. <br />Residents can enter the tournament as a foursome or individually. The tournament fee is $90 <br />per person which includes greens fees, cart, lunch, and gratuities. Slots are available to the <br />first 140 entrants on a first come first serve basis. Tournament format is 18 holes; low net <br />with an established handicap index as of April 2011, the maximum handicap index is 40. <br />All USGA and special course rules will apply. Golfers will be divided into 4 flights; men and <br />women aged 55-64, and men and women aged 65+. Round-trip transportation from Hilo will <br />be available for $5 per person and will depart from the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium. <br />Tournament entry forms will be available beginning March 1st at the West Hawai‘i Special <br />Programs office (West Hawai‘i Civic Center, Bldg. B), the East Hawai‘i Special Programs <br />office in the Pomaika‘i Senior Center, Hilo Kamanā Senior Center, Kea‘au Community Center <br />and by appointment at the Nā‘ālehu Coordinated Services for the Elderly office. Tournament <br />fees must accompany completed registration fees to be confirmed. This year’s theme is “Ola I Ka Wai A Ka ‘Ōpua” or There is Life in <br />Water from the Clouds. Tickets for each evening are just $10 per person.
