West Hawai‘i CSE Celebrates the Sweetest Volunteers!! <br />West Hawai‘i CSE “Sweetest Day” Volunteer Recognition Luncheon was held on October 22, 2010 at <br />Yano Hall. CSE honored the special seniors who have so generously volunteered hundreds of hours to <br />help our kupunas at the luncheon attended by 37 volunteers. <br /> <br />“Sweetest Day”, was originally started by a candy company employee, Herbert Birch Kingstone. He <br />wanted to bring happiness to the elderly, sick, and orphaned by giving them small gifts and candy. <br />Over the years Sweetest Day has evolved into a day to thank and pamper someone special in your life. <br />CSE wanted to pamper and let the volunteers of CSE know how very special they are and how much <br />they are appreciated. The volunteers received lunch, leis, gifts, and prizes and certificates of appreciation. <br />Mahalo the wonderful volunteers...You are the Sweetest!! <br /> <br />Volunteers participate in games at Sweetest Day Luncheon. <br /> <br />Darlette Miguel, Honoka‘a’s CSPA, captivates the CSE Volunteers with her graceful hula. <br /> <br />Walter Fisher, CSW III, presents Duna Gaspar with his door prize as Maile Marquez and Debbie Lucas look on. <br /> <br />CSE Volunteers enjoying their Sweetest Day Lunch. <br /> <br />Aloha and Mahalo to all the West Hawai‘i CSE Volunteers!
