<br />CSE VOLUNTEERS HONORED Older American Honoree <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Once again CSE staff will take the time to <br /> <br />honor our wonderful volunteers all across <br /> <br />the island who dedicate their time to serve <br /> <br />others. <br /> <br /> <br />This year West HawaiiÓs Volunteer <br />Ò <br />Mina Switzer, a Foster Grandparent assisting <br />Recognition Luncheon will be held on <br />at Kohala Middle School was honored at the <br />October 22, 2010 at Yano Hall in Captain <br />2010 Older American Awards. The teachers on either side of Hilda <br />are reading words forming an acrostic of her <br />name with many thoughts of appreciation and <br />descriptions of HildaÓs assistance in their <br />classroom. Hilda serves as a FG at Hilo <br />Union School. All 16 FGÓs were recognized <br />and received awards and mahalos for their <br />love and care. <br />School Days are in Full Swing <br /> <br />Fourteen Foster Grandparents are serving in 7 <br />Big Island Schools: DeSilva, Hilo Union, <br />Kalanianaole, Kohala Middle, Pahala, Pahoa <br />El., Waiakea El. Requests come in frequently <br />for additional grandparents in most of these <br />schools. The program is always in a recruit- <br />Rufino Driquito, Puna volunteer <br />ment ÒmodeÓ.
