CSE HOLDS LUNCHEON FOR <br />SENIOR COMPANION VOLUNTEERS <br />On Friday, May 02, 2008, the West Hawai`i <br />Coordinated Services Staff hosted the Annual <br />Senior Companion Luncheon and Awards <br />Ceremony at the Tante's Restaurant in Kailua- <br />Kona, from 10:00 a.m. — 1:00 p.m. <br /> <br />An elegant program of special gifts and certificates <br />were presented by the Senior Companion Program <br />Asst. of Oahu, Shirley Tehahe, EAD Operations <br />Director, Harold Bugado, and CSE's Kona, Kohala, <br />Waimea, Hamakua, North Hilo District Community <br />Service Program Assistants. Event coordinators <br />were Junie-Ann Kamoku, West Hawai`i CSE <br />Program Director (TA), Anginette Onaka, CSPA <br />(TA), and Walter Fisher, CSW III. <br /> <br />"Senior Companions" from West Hawai`i were <br />honored for their dedication, commitment and <br />countless hours in providing In-home Support <br />Services to the frail elderly in need of assistance <br />on a one to one basis to maintain independent <br />living at home. <br /> <br />This marked the 26th Anniversary for CSE's <br />participation as a Volunteer Station for the Senior <br />Companion Program on the Big Island. It took CSE nearly <br />one (1) year to finally fill the position. Maile still <br />continues to volunteer her services to the Elderly <br />Activities Division. <br /> <br />MAHALO MAILE,...
