26th ANNUAL KUPUNA HULA FESTIVAL MOVES SITE <br />(cover story) <br /> <br />"Na Hula Piha `Eu" (Naughty and Nice) <br />After eight years, the Hawai`i Kupuna Hula Festival will undergo a major <br />change, and return to it's prior site .... which was then called the Kona Surf <br />Hotel. Today, it is known as the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa. <br />With all the splendor of the renovated facility, the competition will be held in <br />the 2,970 sq. ft. Keauhou Convention Center, (Keauhou I and II) on Sept. <br />24-25, 2008. The Festival's Craft Fair will be held in the Keauhou 3 and 4 <br />ballrooms with vendors from throughout the State presenting their items for <br />sale. <br /> <br />Competing in the 26th Annual Hawai`i Kupuna Hula Festival will be 17 halaus <br />from throughout the State of Hawai`i, Japan, & Okinawa. <br />Scheduled for this year's Festival is the Individual competition and <br />Ho`olaulea (Fun night) performances on Wednesday, Sept. 24th; Thursday <br />evening, the Group Competition and awards presentation. All competitive performances will be <br />dancing to the theme: "Na Hula Piha Eu" which promises to be filled with fun and laughter!! <br /> <br />General admission tickets to view the <br />performances are $10.00 per evening, and will <br />be available only from the Special Programs <br />office. Tickets are NOT available at the hotel <br />facility or at other facilities or offices.
