Special Programs REGISTRATION OPEN FOR MOKU O HAWAI`I SENIOR OLYMPIC EVENTS To participate in the games of the 2008 Moku O Hawai`i Senior Olym- pics, a Big Island resident must be 56 years of age by March 03, 2008, and be a paid registered entry. Registration period is being held from March 03 to April 11, 2008. A completed registration, including a mandatory C of H Release of Claims form, and a $3,00 entry fee is required to be submitted to the Special Programs offices. Registration forms are available at various Elderly Activities Division offices located island-wide. All offices are open Monday through Friday, excluding holidays from 7:45 am to 4:30 p.m., but it is highly recommended to call the outer district offices in Puna, Ka`u, Waimea, Honokaa, and Kohala to arrange for registration pick-up. All entries must be pre- registered prior to participating in the preliminaries and/or finals. Game preliminaries will be held from April 29 to June 18th and, finals from June 18 to July 17, 2008, at various sites around the island. The top three final divisional winners in each event will be awarded a gold, silver, or bronze exclusive Moku O Hawai`i Senior Olympic medal. Two events, the Big Island Senior Golf Tournament, sponsored by Big Island Candies, is scheduled for June 27 at the Hapuna Golf Course, and the Hawai`i Kupuna Softball Tourna- ment, July 15 to 17, to be held at the Old Airport Fields in Kailua Kona, will be included in the Moku O Hawai`i Senior Olympics. Registration for the Big island Senior Golf Tournament is from March 03 to May 23, on a first come, first served basis. Entry fees is $90.00 plus a $3.00 Olympic registration fee per golfer.
