Coordinated Services for the Elderly <br /> <br />Coran Kitaoka, EAD Deputy Director, (808) 323-4320 <br />Tim Hansen, East Hawai`i (808) 961-8777, Fran Takamiyashiro, West Hawai`i (808) 323-4320 <br /> <br />Elderly Activities Division Advisory Council Meeting <br />Elderly Activities Division held its annual islandwide Advisory Council Meeting at the West <br />Hawai‘i Civic Center on January 27, 2012. Senior Club and Nutrition Club Presidents <br />attended the annual meeting where Elderly Activities Division Programs discussed their <br />past six months of activities and upcoming events. In attendance, was special guest, <br />Mayor Billy Kenoi. The event was topped off with lunch at the West Hawai‘i Civic Center Pavilion. <br /> <br />Mahalo Mary Chun for 35 Years of Excellent Service to Hawai‘i County Seniors <br />Mary first started working for the County of Hawai‘i in the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program under <br />Nancy Matsunami as an Aide in Laupāhoehoe. She then moved over to the Hawai‘i County <br />Nutrition Program in Honoka‘a as a Nutrition Site Manager for 20+ years. Mary also assisted <br />with the Elderly Recreation Services under George Yoshida. For the last 8 years Mary has been, <br />and continues to be with Coordinated Services for the Elderly as a Community Service Program <br />Assistant in Pāpa‘aloa. Mary treats all the seniors in Pāpa‘aloa as her own family. Mahalo Mary <br />for all the years of loving, compassionate service! <br /> <br />Tim Hansen, Mary Chun, Fran Takamiyashiro, Roann Okamura. <br /> <br />CSE Awarded Contract with Sage PLUS to do Outreach to Seniors <br />CSE staff will continue our outreach efforts to reach seniors who may qualify for special <br />assistance with their Medicare benefits. If you are a single person whose income is less <br />than $1,567.50 per month or a couple with an income of less than $2,116.25 per month you <br />may be eligible for some special help paying your insurance premium and/or your drug <br />coverage expenses.
