Currently, green waste, <br />FY 01 -02 <br />glass, paper, and tires are used locally. <br />According to the County Department of Environmental Management (DEM), the waste <br />diversion rate, signifying the quantity of recycled materials taken as a percentage of total <br />waste generation, has more than doubled from approximately 14 percent in FY 00 -01 to <br />more than 29 percent in FY 07 -08.
