This is also an opportunity in order to avoid 15 mile commute to Hilo and <br />not becoming another car in our already congested roads. The proposed use <br />will provide a service to the community and provide the applicant with <br />employment. In addition to providing a service to community, the applicant <br />will be adding to the economic strength to HPP. <br />D. Surrounding zoning and land uses. <br />Surrounding zoning is Agriculture-]. The state land use is agriculture and the <br />general land use is rural. There are four homes that exist near the proposed acre <br />One home per each acre and there are four empty lots within the 500 feet <br />radius. Effects from the proposed use will be inconspicuous. (See attached <br />letters to the owners of the lots and homes within a 500 mile radius). <br />E. Flood insurance Rate Map (FIRM) designation (contact Department of Public <br />Works- Engineering Division). <br />This area is not a flood zone prone area according to the Engineering Division at <br />Public Works. <br />F. Archeological resources (chosen #2, "no effect' letter from the State DLNR <br />Historic Preservation Division) <br />This property has been developed and occupied for more than 20 years and <br />there are no archeological findings. (See attached letter) <br />G. Floral and faunal resources <br />This property is surrounded by Ohia trees and weeds. The floral that exist <br />contain numerous trees, assorted citrus, and banana that this applicant planted. <br />H. Valued cultural resources: Identify any traditional or customary native <br />Hawaiian rights that are exercised in the area; the extent in which the proposed <br />development will affect these rights; and feasible action to be taken to protect <br />native Hawaiian rights if they exist. <br />There is no evidence of any Native Hawaiian activity on the proposed parcel. <br />I. Public access: Existing public access to and along the shoreline or to mountain <br />areas and knowledge of whether public access is being issued. <br />There are no existing public access routes that will be affected by this proposal. It <br />is situated too for from the ocean and very far from any mountainous areas. <br />
