The new developments are pretty ugly and totally car - centered. Original Pahoa town has all the <br />charm and the great restaurants and are pedestrian- centered. Of course, there's the rub, <br />parking in the new areas is plentiful and parking in old Pahoa is limited, though there's always <br />somewhere to ditch the car. <br />Infrastructure issues <br />sidewalkks need to be leveled and fixed - unsafe, need more spruced up tourist friendly type <br />storefronts <br />We are good, Just give us parking & reasonable roads for good traffic flow. Ask Steve Sparks <br />about his plan fo a 2nd road thru old Town Pahoa. <br />all dependant on parking and access. <br />No public eating spots. Parking focused on fast -food franchises where you eat in the vehicle. <br />We are coming along! The new shopping centers are great. If there was more parking <br />downtown Pahoa, the downtown businesses would do better. <br />Parking is severely limiting business activity <br />No water available <br />need more infrastructure .... traffic lights /roundabouts, parking, and lighting. <br />Need the boardwalk repaired or redesigned to be safer while retaining its Pahoa style. <br />Need a public park /eating area where people can bring their leashed pets. <br />Miscellaneous <br />we need services that hire local people and not ship in outsiders to fill jobs <br />anti growth community <br />Development Page 12 <br />
