Wish businesses could afford to stay in business. <br />nice new buildings in Hilo <br />1TiY1 9111 19111 CN111110939111 w_\ 0I91 DOIiai7 M9II: 1T /1►[eIIky /II11MA1:11►[eIXiI4L1ari I1.111MWA01WE <br />Need more Acohol Free coffee shops with live music Alcohol Abuses causes 90% of crimes <br />The developement in Puna is good. <br />But it is expanding fast. but jobs and housing is poor in the sence that alot of houses just sitting <br />keep it local <br />like not having to drive to Hilo! <br />Develop jobs and services so adults can support their families better. <br />(MG 5/10 NCA) Revitalization of town <br />but improving <br />shooping for some things should be cheper. <br />Need businesses that are proud and create a atmosphere that attracts tourists <br />Support services for youth, family, seniors (more) <br />Landlords are charging too much rent for someone to break even in Pahoa Town - slum lords! <br />The county creates roadblocks for new businesses versus promoting development of businesses <br />in the community. <br />It's coming along ... But much more needs to be done re the town supporting the business <br />owners. My friend was paying a very high rent for a retail store (located behind the main drag). <br />she invested everything into that business and was a great networking citizen. She was thriving <br />while she had a small sign posted out front that showing customers she was there. The town <br />threatened to fine her severely, treated her like a criminal... until she took the harmless sign <br />down. Within a month, she went out of business because she was prohibited from letting <br />people know she was there. Her shop was invisible from the street and even the front street <br />business owners had no problem with the sign. So, she lost everything, the customers lost a <br />Development Page 13 <br />
