O- no over crowding! no new development in town. no urban overcrowded slums!
O- no too many houses visible
O- Not sure what *type* of housing is being asked about here, so I can't give an opinion.
O- Single family houses in abundance
O- Some houses are all bust up, needs improving.
O- thank you George Bush!!
0- There is a great variety of housing types, available housing, and WAY, WAY too many
empty homes. Absent owners are not necessarily good neighbors.
O- Unknown
O- Wlth the cost of a home purchase in this market, along with the price of vacant land,
AND the number of homes that are rentals, I don't get the impression that housing is a
shortage ... and it doesn't really seem like the Pahoa area would really be supportive of
condo living....
O- We would like to see housing remain mainly outside of the Town area itself, but can
also soo that there needs to be a comittee for repairing homes that do exist there.
O- Housing in Pahoa is housing in Pahoa. I wouldn't want it improved to be like housing
in a bigger town. And, it should be safe and adequate nonetheless.
M- multi - family housing
M- Pahoa needs mult- family zoning so that enough population density can exist in town
to actually create a village and reduce car dependency.
T- Hostels beautiful & well maintained
T- Need rezoning for and encouragement of B &Bs, other overnight lodging etc.
Housing Page 5
