Suggestions to change motorized traffic or parking
need 1 way road to allow other avenue /modes of transportation
Horrible, very unsafe & unwelcoming. Delete the current street parking & make downtown safe
and welcoming. Need a good sidewalk & bike lane from high school to Longs.
For me this is critical. Motorists need to be aware that they are 2nd class citizens and that
pedestrians and bicycles have the right -of -way. As we migrate towards a world without oil, we
need to refocus ourselves on people, not machines. Currently, motorists don't even think
about bicyclists or pedestrians.
more bikeways more people will be riding in future, electic slow vehicles also
there are the strips along 130 for bikes, but I am enamored with the idea of old Pahoa town
being peds only
Any chance of improving Japanese Camp Rd as parallel route to walk and bike part of the way
through Pahoa? and of extending it NW beyond P.O. Rd towards the Kahakai Mauka segment?
It would need to be marked for walking, biking, and residents' use only.
there are none. We need bike and walking paths that could connect the different subdivisions
together through the beautiful forest. These would not only provide scenic routes into town
that interconnect the different subdivisions they would also promote healthy life styles and
reduce traffic and fuel cost. These trails should be away from the highways where vehicles
travel and could easily be lighted by solar trail lights.
Add the blinking lights to make cars stop for pedestrians.
The center of Pahoa should be pedestrial only on weekends.
Poor lighting at night, we need more reflective tape on the roads and poles.
Bus Stops
Bicycle path. No bus stops marked to STOP
Non- motorized transportation Page 11
