Very, very poor!! No sidewalks and no bike lanes make for very dangerous conditions for
pedestrians, bicyclists and motorist alike!
Desperately need sidewalks and bike paths for safety
no sidewalks, accessability for the disabled, no bike path. Dangerous!
Pahoa town needs sidewalks. Pedestrians must walk on the roadside which is dangerous with
the flow of vehicular traffic on a narrow road. Pahoa is not physically accessible to individuals
with mobility or visual disabilities. Hwy 130 needs bike paths for bicycles and scooters and
traffic lanes should be widened. The highway is dangerous for all who use the highway.
some of the most dangerous in the world. try walking from the natch to 7 -11 at night!
The entire town is a pedestrian hazard.
Is very dangerous to walk through many parts of Pahoa
You have got to be kidding ! What pathways? Kids walking on Kahakai take their lives in their
hands if they walk to school! !
It is dangerous to walk along the streets as traffic is heavy and speeding. A lot of the homes let
their dogs loose so it is not safe to take a walk in the neighborhood.
None until you kill child trying to get off bus in unmarked sidewalk
Very bad situation. Dangerous to ride a bike with not even a shoulder. No sidewalks. I like the
old boardwalks but they are not acessable to handicaped.
I've felt at risk walking or biking down the main pahoa road especially at night with no street
lights.
Hardly any! This is very necessary! If you do not know, take a committee and stand in two
areas within town. One by the Post Office(and look towards L &L and the 7 -11 store); the other
by the two banks in town.. It is harrowing to watch people clamber about, walk onto the street
while cars drive by and such.
Having lived near the business district and having children walk to school I have only heard of
the numerous occassions where they had close calls between the building that ended just past
the tattoo shop and Paul's. As for bicycle they are vehicles and need to obey all traffic rules
and should be walked on sidewalks. Sidewalks are not bicycle paths and they do not have the
right of way! Also pedestrian crossing should be well marked. Too bad the police don't spend
as much time at the crosswalks as they do waiting to write seatbelt tickets.
Non- motorized transportation Page 10
