Possibly a little larger, its just to close to the road even with the stuff on the ground (the block
thing along the sidewalk)
Have to walk on road many places.
need safer places to walk beside roadside
Where can you put these without moving all the dld's back? Good idea everywhere except
MAIN CORRIDOR
puka sidewalks or no sidewalks
Need sidewalks along Pahoa Village Rd from Malama Market to other end of town, at least on
one side of the road.
Need sidewalks on Main St.
It's a little better, but, there are still places where people have to walk in the road.
I don't think there are any side walks except for directly in Pahoa Village, which are incomplete
& run -down.
Sidewalks only in a few places, for rest of town peds are on roadway with inadequate shoulder;
no markings for peds or bikes, rought /uneven pavement edges.
we really need to upgrade on our crosswalks so people dont get bang as often..
Sidewalk badly needed!
Pahoa needs sidewalks!
People often have to walk in a driving lane as there are no sidewalks in many areas. Makes it
dangerous for both the pedestrians and traffic. Less than two -lane roads are particularly a
problem (Post Office, Cemetary, Ka'ohe Homestead).
It would be better to have covered walkways on both sides of the road near all of the
restaurants, since it rains so frequently. That way, people would be more likely to walk
amongst the various stores instead of running to their cars when it is raining hard.
needs improvement. pedestrians cant really be seen between cars and may be hit by traffic.
needs sidewalds!!!
Non- motorized transportation Page 3
