Handicap access
no sidewalks, accessability for the disabled, no bike path. Dangerous!
I have bad knees, have to walk on the street between the museum and kaleao's
Impossible to navigate on crutches or in a wheelchair, main street Pahoa is a dangerous place
to walk.
As a older American riding a bicycle from my home to Pahoa would be a lot to be desided. First
off at my age I am not riding out in the rain and again with some of the drivers on the road I
would be taking a huge risk riding on the streets of Pahoa Town. I have seen busses and large
trucks just flying through Pahoa Town so I would say not a healthy thing to do.
Desperate need for good, safe. well lit and handicapped accessible sides walks. Safe bike paths
through all of Pahoa is very needed
Shameful condition. Regulations demand handicap parking, but there is nil handicap walking.
Sidewalks and walkways are decent. Not very friendly to wheelchairs though.
barely there, roadways are dangerous and narrow in Pahoa town, barely having room for
vehicles, let alone pedestrians or bicycles. Many places are not ADA accessible.
Safety (most comments involve safety issues, but these comments indicate the level of
concern)
Difinite need for improvement here. Again, not to glorify automobiles, but we all use these
roads. The auto driver seems to think himself King of the Road and I have been yelled at to get
off the road, when walking. (I walk at the very edge of pavement. Safer than in the dirt with
rocks, uneven surface and drop offs.) Perhaps signage to remind drivers that pedestrians
(bicycles, strollers, skate boarders, etc, use these roads also.
actually dangerous!
NOT safe. Wait, I actually meant LIFE THREATENING
I worry about hitch - hikers on the road sides. I am also greatly concerned with the lack of
regulation on helmet safety on the islands To many speeding cars on Main St. one of our
family got hit by a car in Front of Cash & Carry
Non- motorized transportation Page 9
