the world's most expensive!
The electiricity rates, of course are outrageous! We are all being taken advantage of, by the
Helco Co. They know that most of us NEED their power to be able to pump our water, thus
being most of our real necessity, even over water, because most folks out here have catchment,
for our water source. This we are happy with. We like being in control of our water. We have
lived in Hawaii for 11 years now and fomr where we come from, the cable service gives refunds,
for outageous lasting longer than 1 hour. Time Warner would be out of bussiness, if this was
the case for them. Better cell service, may be an answer for this problem.
PGA is loud and we need compensation for pov such as a break in our electric, maybe for us
who have lived here 3 or more years.
Needs massive overhaul! Start by replacing the tangled electric grid in Pahoa Town, co-
ordinate with State for phone /internet.
power is expensive
Super
Need long range planning
Overhead utilities are quite unsitely.
Power lines need upgraded
Are you kidding ?. Helco goes off -line a whole lot less than they used to. The redundant electric
lines for Geothermal on Hwy b/w Keaau and Pahoa are so ugly.
If you're only talking about Pahoa, this is fine. Everywhere else in Puna it is very poor.
What would you like to see happen with Utilities in general?
need more solar
Make Pahoa a model for sustainable solar energy.
Need more solar not geothermal
Public Utilities Page 9
