* need roundabouts at orchidland & Longs Drug Entrance /exit at Malama Market end of town is the most dangerous intersection in Hawaii. Needs immediate attention in the form of a roundabout and new engineering They are improved but north end of town will get worse as more people move to Puna It needs major improvement especially by the Malama market entrance. Too many accidents to count. By -pass with access to town center and shopping mall is better than before. but (underlined but) intersection needs re- design. Dangerous and difficult to navigate. We need a traffic oval from the entrance to the Malama / longs road to Kahakai, where only right turns are allowed. Done right (not something Hawaii is good at...) traffic would flow easily and no one would be making left turns in front of others. Talk about a sobriety test. Even sober most people are challenged getting in and out of Malama Market. Why didn't the entry simply come straight in from Hilo instead of looping back and around making it highly conjested. the new intersection at 130 and Pahoa Vill rd, the entrances /exits near Long's, the intersection with Kahakai - this entire area is an incredible awful dangerous mess. worst planned streets ever! the entrance at the other end of town (kapoho rd) is fine. Northern entry is poorly designed. Needs some realignment to make it safer. You killer cornoe A veritable nightmare. Hwy.130 into Malama Marketplace is russian roulette on wheels. Without Red Lights Daily crashes will continue (Malama) Dangerous intersection near Longs /Malama / Kahakai horribly dangerous intersectionM!
